DALLAS - AT&T announces February 13 as the on sale date of the HTC Freestyle, the second HTC device powered by Brew OS.
HTC's first Brew OS device was the Smart. Despite how it may sound, this Brew OS powered device is not
a smartphone. There is nothing exciting about the device. It's actually a pretty basic phone for those
people who don't need Google's Android or Microsoft's Windows Phone 7.
It may not be a smartphone, but the top half of the device subtly reminds us of the Android powered
HTC Desire HD. The Freestyle is powered by Qualcomm's MSM 7225, 528 MHz processor. If the processor
sounds familar, it is cause it is. It's the same processor HTC used in the Tattoo and Wildfire. The
Freestyle has 256 MB of RAM and 256MB of ROM. One of the positives about the Freestyle is that it can
accept microSD cards of up to 32GB. The device has a 3.2" display and a 3.2 megapixel camera. The HTC
Freestyle will cost $99.99 after a two-year contract and $50 mail-in rebate beginning Feb. 13.
