Nokia Reveals Next Generation Symbian Range

September 14, 2010

LONDON – Nokia displays its diverse Symbian^3 range of smartphones at the 2010 Nokia world. The range consists of the previously announced N8, the C6, C7, and the business centric E7. While the design of the E7 is similar to the N8, the E7 is not the N8 with a keyboard. Nokia hopes that the new Symbian^3 powered devices will be more competitive in the minds of consumers against Apple's iOS, and Google's Android OS.

The C6 and C7 are Nokia's new Symbian^3 powered cameraphones. The C6 has a 8-megapixel camera with 2x digital zoom and dual LED flash. It also has Nokia's ClearBlack display technology. The display is a 3.2" AMOLED capacitive touchscreen. The C7 has a slightly bigger 3.5" AMOLED capcitive touch screen display. The C7 comes with Nokia's BL-5K 1200mAh battery. The C7's camera is also an 8-megapixel camera with dual LED flash. Both the C6 and C7 have a 3.5mm connector. Unlike the others, the Nokia E7 has a slideout QWERTY keyboard. It may be a business centric device, but it does have a 3.5mm connector like the other devices. The E7 also has a AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, but measures 4-inches.

Nokia has uploaded videos to You Tube of their "official unboxing of the Nokia N8." It's a pretty detailed video and is somewhat interactive. The N8 is expected to debut next month, while the other phones will debut sometimes in the fourth quarter.
