Broadcasted on the ABC television network, Miss Nebraska 2010, Teresa Scanlan, was crowned Miss America
2011. This year is the 90th Anniversary of the Miss America Pageant. It is also the first year the
pagent was back on network television. Previously, it was broacasted on cable. Scanlan is a 17
year old from Gerig, Nebraska. According to the pagent, she will travel approximately 20,000 miles each
month speaking to audiences about her platform of Eating Disorders: A Generation at Risk, and acting as
the National Goodwill Ambassador for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals during her year of service
as Miss America 2011. The runner-ups were Miss Arkansas, Alyse Eady, Miss Hawaii, Jalee Fuselier,
Miss Washington, Jacquie Brown, and Miss Oklahoma, Emoly West.
